- The Waterstones children's book prize went to Kiran Millwood Hargrave for 'The Girl of Ink and Stars'.
- Ransom Riggs and Taherah Mafi announced that they're releasing a collaboration: their baby will be arriving in a couple of months!

There were also new releases from blink-182, Microwave, Real Friends, Creeper, Frank Iero and the Patience, Bleachers, He Is Legend, State Champs, Darlia and Black Stone Cherry, while Shaking Chains released a video that changes every time you watch it and Papa Roach released not one but two new songs.
Those should keep you busy for a while!
When are the tour announcements going to stop?!:
- All Time Low have announced a one-off show at the Rose Theatre in Kingston on May 30th, celebrating the release of 'Last Young Renegade'.
- Miss May I are hitting the road in May, touring until the end of June with Upon A Burning Body, Kublai Khan and Currents.
- System of a Down are playing headline shows throughout Europe in June, slotted it around their festival appearances. Support comes from Code Orange.
- Prophets of Rage have announced their first UK headline show, playing Brixton O2 Academy in June.
- Catfish and the Bottlemen are playing three huge UK shows in June and July.
- Ghost have announced that they'll be playing some headline shows across America in June and July.
- Linkin Park are returning to the UK in July for three dates.
- Counting Crows and Matchbox 20 are co-headlining an American tour that will run from July to October.
- The Skints are playing small shows across the UK throughout September and October.
In other news:
- It's time for the return of our semi-regular feature: Who The Heck Crashed Their Bus This Week?. This time the culprits are Bowling For Soup, who did this to their bus to celebrate the start of their tour.
- Sadly, another two bands were robbed this week. Boston Manor were #nakedenglishboys in America after their van was broken into in San Francisco and Backwards Dancer lost everything in California.
- Are you tired of festival announcements yet? No? Apparently neither are Glastonbury, Download, Slam Dunk, Pain in the Grass, Pukklepop, Blackest of the Black and This Is Hardcore.
- There was also a literal festival announcement: Damon Albarn's Gorillaz now have their own festival called Demon Dayz.
- Quite a few albums have been announced: State Champs are releasing a deluxe edition 'Around the World and Back', Lana Del Rey will be releasing 'Lust For Life' at some point, A Perfect Circle have signed with BMG to release their first album in thirteen years, and The Movielife have announced that they'll be releasing their first album in fourteen years through Rise Records...
- ...while Halsey finally showed the world the artwork for her upcoming second album, 'Hopeless Fountain Kingdom'.
- In the third piece of All Time Low related news, 'Nothing Personal' has been certified gold in the UK. FINALLY.
- Grayscale have been signed by Fearless Records...
- ...while No Sleep Records announced that they've signed Hot Mulligan. Huge congratulations to both!
- Stick To Your Guns became the first metal band to play in Kenya.
- Jonny Craig shared that he's likely to be out of hospital on April 17th...
- ...while Zach Johnson from The Ghost Inside is undergoing his twelfth surgery since the band's bus crash back in 2015.
- Sirona have split up...
- ...while Ice Nine Kills posted an image that appeared to confirm their break-up as an attention-seeking April Fool's joke. Sigh.
- twenty one pilots sold out every date of their Tour de Columbus. Of course.
- Meanwhile, Waterparks were very busy this week: they posted a tour diary of their adventures in Europe, released their very own GIF keyboard and graced the cover of a magazine for the first time. I'm so proud of my boys!
